  • MANTIGUE ISLAND | MAHINOG, CAMIGUIN Camiguin has become almost synonymous to White Sand, the tiny sandbar off the coast of the town of Mambajao. But on the other side of the province exists a real island with white sandy beach amid the rich turquoise waters – Mantigue Island. Mantigue Island is dotted with mangroves and vegetation in the middle and surrounded with white sand. The surrounding water is a marine sanctuary that hosts a vivid marine life making it ideal for scuba diving and snorkeling. Expect to see huge sea turtles, school of jacks, barracudas, mantas, occassional reef sharks and more! This is one of my favorite dive destinations in Mindanao! How to Get to Mantigue Island: The island is just a 20-minute boat ride from mainland Camiguin. Boats can be chartered to take you there from Barangay San Roque (near Benoni Port) in the town of Mahinog for P550 round-trip, good for six (6) people. . [About this photo: So ayun, nagdive kami. Thankfully, only dive boats are allowed in the island that time since MARINA hasn't renewed the licenses of boat operators yet. Meaning, solo namin ang island! Caramba!] . #Mahinog #Camiguin #Philippines
